Porous polymers
We design porous polymers by 'porosity' and 'chemistry' rules for selective adsorption of targeted compounds, such as CO2 in the air, micropollutants in water, and organic vapors.
We design and make novel polymeric materials to find sustainable solutions for tackling the urgent problems of water pollution and energy shortage.
Byun Laboratory @ KIST
We are Dr. Jeehye Byun's research team at the Water Cycle Research Center, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). Our research focuses on the design of porous and conjugated polymers for energy and environmental applications.
Environment
We design porous polymers by 'porosity' and 'chemistry' rules for selective adsorption of targeted compounds, such as CO2 in the air, micropollutants in water, and organic vapors.
Energy
We develop conjugated polymer photocatalysts that harvest visible light for solar H2O2 production, water splitting, and CO2 conversion.
Materials
We design and make novel polymeric materials and surface-tuned membranes through fine structural design.
